Countdown to Mets Fantasy Camp 5 Days to Go.
#5
#1
Davey Johnson
6 Winning Seasons, 2 100 plus wins seasons, 3 90 plus seasons, most wins as a Met Manager, Best Winning Percentage of any Mets Manager.Davey brought an attitude to the Mets and while some can argue that by only winning one championship under him that those teams somewhat under achieved, it is also possible that because of the various personalties Davey had on that team, that he is the only reason they even won one championship.
#2
David Wright
Mr. Met! David Wright was the symbol of everything right for the Mets when they needed it most, a home grown product, drafted by the Mets in 2001 3 years later he made his highly anticipated debut . He is a seven-time All-Star which ties him for most of any Mets position players,he has won the Gold Glove 2 times as well as, the Silver Slugger Award twice, and a member of the 30–30 club. He holds Mets franchise records for most career runs batted in (RBIs), doubles, total bases, runs scored, walks, sacrifice flies, times on base, extra base hits, strikeouts, and hits. He rightly took as place in team history when he was named captain of the Mets in 2013, only the fourth in team history, and was given the nickname "Captain America" after his performance for Team USA including a grand slam in the World Baseball Classic.
#3
John Olerud
Talk about highway robbery, how in the world did the Mets get John Olerud for Robert Person? John played first base flawlessly for 3 seasons for the Mets, he hit .315 over those 3 years and averaged over 20 Home runs and 95 rbis a season. if you look up the word consistency in the dictionary a photo of John should appear. His swing was everything batting instructors teach, both fluid and graceful. He hit to all fields and had tremendous patience at the plate, his high on-base percentage, and his ability to drive in runs made him one of the toughest outs in the game. Could be the most underrated under appreciated Met of all-time.
